Morton's Closes Several Restaurants, But OC Locations Are Safe (For Now)
Three locations recently shuttered (in Michigan, Illinois and Minnesota).
Not surprisingly, the upscale steakhouse chain has suffered during the recession, with the number of corporate expense diners, in particular, falling dramatically.
Still, a spokesperson tells us that they have "no knowledge of either of the two OC locations (Santa Ana and Anaheim) being in any jeopardy of closing." Which is encouraging news, especially as there's a killer $25 three-course weekday lunchtime deal on at the moment at the Santa Ana spot.
It's a raging bargain: soup or salad, followed by grilled rib-eye, shrimp and scallops, salmon or chicken Christopher (that's breasts in a garlic-shallot breadcrumb coating), and topped off with a mini cheesecake or double chocolate mousse.
Run, don't walk!
