Manila Hits Is OC's Latest Filipino Food Truck

LA's seen a handful of Filipino food trucks since the Great Lonchera Boom of 2009. Manila Machine didn't last, but The White Rabbit Truck still persists, serving sisig burritos. OC had Pogi Boy, but it folded a few years ago. Of OC's remaining Filipino food trucks, there's Adobo Express, but its Facebook seems to have slowed down to a crawl with the last update a month ago.

Now there is another.

Manila Hits serves street foods, most of them of the skewered variety, including chicken isaw (chicken intestines) and kwek-kwek (quail eggs) grilled on a large outdoor hibachi.

According to the menu, all items are $1 a piece (except for the balut, which is $2).

They have a Facebook page that's updated with their current location. This week, they're scheduled to be at 2112 E. 4th St. in Santa Ana (in the backlot beside the Mexican Consulate) from 6-11p.m. until Saturday.
