Hopdoddy Burger Bar Opens in Newport Beach's Fashion Island
Hopdoddy Burger Bar is originally from Texas, established in 2010 in Austin. Since then it has grown to four more locations in the Lone Star state. Now it's expanding to other territories including Arizona, Colorado, and right here in our neck of the woods. In recent months Hopdoddys have opened in El Segundo and Playa Vista.
Now one has opened in Newport Beach's Fashion Island, just around the corner from the Tesla store, near Macy's.
It's not the first burger import from other states. Earlier this year, Mooyah Burger & Fries landed in Irvine, also from Texas. Holsteins Shakes and Buns, which opened recently at South Coast Plaza, is from Las Vegas.
According to its website and Fashion Island's blurb about the restaurant, Hopdoddy Burger Bar comes with accolades from celebrities such as Jimmy Kimmel and Rachael Ray, if that sort of things matters. It also won Readers' Choice for Best Burger in Food & Wine Magazine.
The cost for a burger at the Newport Beach location ranges from $7.25 for a Classic (Angus beef, red leaf lettuce, white onion, beef steak tomato, sassy sauce) to $13.25 for the Ahi Tuna Burger (sushi-grade tuna, sprouts, teriyaki, honey wasabi, nori chips, pickled ginger, mayo).
They've got beer on tap, but also shakes with flavors that include tres leches, red velvet cake, and chocolate stout.
