Elvis To Sing at Early Bird's Fried Chicken Night

I'm not an Elvis nut, but I had always thought The King's favorite food was fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches. But maybe he liked fried chicken, too.

If so, that why's Joseph Mahon's Early Bird was able to convince “him” to come perform this Thursday night, September 6, 2012, 5:30 p.m.to 9:30 p.m. at Early Bird's Fried Chicken Night.
Mahon writes, “Elvis Presley [is] back from retirement for this one time only event! Singing just for you!”
What's more interesting here is that Mahon is apparently not done with pop-ups. He's now doing it in his own restaurant, which if you don't pay attention to the amount of attention we've paid the guy in recent months, is normally a breakfast joint that closes up shop by 3 p.m.
The menu for the one-night only event reads thusly:

]

A full bucket (feeds a family of 4) goes for $42 or a half bucket (feeds 2) goes for $25.
The dinners can be to-go or dine in. The full bucket has 12 pieces of Mahon's “secret recipe” buttermilk fried chicken and includes 4 large side “Fixins” of:

  • MASHED POTATOES & PAN GRAVY
  • VERMONT AGED CHEDDAR MACARONI (MAC'N'CHEESE)
  • CABBAGE SLAW W/ JICAMA/APPLES/WALNUTS AND HOT PINK DRESSING
  • ROASTED CORN W/ GREEN ONIONS AND PAPRIKA BUTTER
There will be desserts of apple cobbler for $5. “Hillbilly Juice” (a.k.a. EB's Southern Punch) for $4, beer and in honor of The King, an “Elvis Shake” with peanut butter, banana, and bacon. Ah, there's the peanut butter and banana, after all.
