El Bulli Documentary Screens in Long Beach This Sunday

You think you have to cook under pressure this Thanksgiving? Imagine being a young stagiaire and invent a new dish that'll impress the master of avant-garde cuisine Ferran AdriĆ . That's just one snapshot within the documentary film El Bulli: Cooking in Progress.

The only Los Angeles-area screening plays this Sunday, November 27 at 2 p.m. at the Art Theater of Long Beach. Chef AdriĆ  closed El Bulli as a restaurant earlier this year, and transformed it into a culinary academy, so this film is the closest most of us will ever get to experiencing the near-mythic 30+ course tasting menus.

As of this writing, there is only one showing scheduled at the Art Theater, and we suspect that it will sell out. Advance purchases for this film are available online, or in person at the The Art for $9. Event spokesperson Diane Gershuny said that the theater may extend the engagement based on the response to the first screening, but for now, it's one show only. You snooze, you lose.
