Dishcrawl Launches Downtown Long Beach Event + Exclusive Chef Leak

For the voracious foodie, indecisive eater and social butterfly alike, Dishcrawl is for the first time spreading its bar-crawl-for-food concept to the eclectic restaurants of downtown Long Beach.

On March 12, Dishcrawl reps will escort ticketholders to four locations across downtown's dining and entertainment district where they will spend three hours sampling specialty dishes, exploring menus and even meeting the chefs themselves. The participating restaurants and chefs are usually kept secret until that day, but Dishcrawl gave us one of the names and told us we could leak it to you early!

Chef Walter Cotta is one of the Long Beach chefs the company says will cook for crawlers next week, but with his double duty as kitchen master for both L'Opera Ristorante and Alegria Cocina Latina on Pine Avenue, the actual location for the event is still unknown. Cotta, however, specializes in everything from hand-folded cappellacci to some mean humitas chilenas, so regardless of where Dishcrawl ends up, at least one-fourth of the evening will be in his capable hands.

The company has already hosted similar food
excursions in more than 100 cities and neighborhoods across North America,
including in its Bay Area home turf, where Dishcrawl's signature experience has earned a
reputation for exposing hidden gems while creating a micro-community of
adventure seekers (there was even a vegetarian Dishcrawl in the Mission).

After successful SoCal runs in nearby Anaheim and LA, Dishcrawl's Long Beach launch aims to show off the culinary prowess of the city by the sea's urban downtown. There are only a few tickets left for this unconventional food tour, so secure your spot now, and let the crawling begin!

Dishcrawl Downtown Long Beach will be held at a location to be announced. Tues., March 12, 7 p.m. $45. Buy tickets at dishcrawl.com/longbeach.
