Coconut Rabbit, Our Winner For Best Thai 2014, Closes (Hopefully Temporarily)

Coconut Rabbit, the Los Alamitos Thai restaurant that won Best Thai on our Best Of Issue last year along with countless of other accolades we bestowed upon it, has closed after two years. At least temporarily.

Their website has this phrase: “We will be closed as we are going through some exciting changes. Stay tuned!”

Puzzled as to what that meant, I contacted them and got in touch with Chef Nok, the chef principally responsible for Coconut Rabbit's great food. She says that they will reopen soon under a “new business ownership.” And that they will “offer higher quality and unique menu.”

“I'm sure you will love CR even more,” she added.

When I asked whether she would still be cooking there, she replied, “Absolutely yes!”

She didn't give a timeframe for when it will reopen or specifics as to what the changes will be, but I hope it will be soon and not much. After all, we didn't give them all our accolades because we thought anything needed changing.

More news on this as it comes.
