You East Coast transplants surely have heard about the Dunkin' Donuts that just opened in Camp Pendleton. It's open to the public. Though you don't have to actually have some sort of security clearance to enter the base to eat a cruller and sip a cup a' joe, there are some requirements and restrictions. You need a valid driver license, current vehicle registration and proof of current liability insurance. Also, according to Eater, If you've been convicted of a felony in the past 10 years, or have an outstanding warrant, or were dishonorably discharged from the military, you'll just have to settle for Krispy Kreme and Starbucks–they won't let you in.

The Camp Pendleton Dunkin' Donuts, by the way, is the first and only one
of its kind in California after the last Dunkin' shuttered around 2002 in
Sacramento. And to this Nation's Restaurant News
had another scoop: despite opening a distribution center in Phoenix,
the chain says “the Camp Pendleton location is part of the (its)
strategy of
opening on military bases, and it doesn't necessarily mark a flood of
new units to come to the Golden State.”
