Head to the Orchard Hills Village Center in Irvine this Friday, April 3 (5:00pm-10:00pm) and Saturday, April 4 (2:00pm-10:00pm) for WineStyles' first birthday bash.
Expect free wine tastings, raffles, gift certificates, complimentary wine-tasting coupons, bottles of wine and accessories—plus live music from guitarist Jerry "Righteous Brother" McFarland. Guests can also join WineStyles' wine club for just $1 in April (instead of the usual $34.99; for that you get two bottles of wine a month).
According to industry reports, the US is set to become the world's leading wine-drinking nation by 2012, as we all guzzle our worries away.
Now the fastest-growing wine franchise in the country, WineStyles has clearly struck a chord with the wine-buying public because of its unpretentious attitude, offering wines characterized as "crisp, silky, rich, bubbly, fruity, mellow, bold or nectar".

The fair pricing is the other major factor, of course. As store owner Christine Du Vall explained to us, a new distribution deal has resulted in a 'six bottles for $60' promotion, with a choice of 15 wines. Going up the scale, there are over 130 wines within the $10-$25 range, and more than 20 priced at $25 or above.
The company is also laudable for its commitment to the local community. And while there are several other stores around OC, it's the Orchard Hills location that's pulling out all the stop(per)s with an eclectic list of events.
In addition to the regular daily (except Monday) tastings, there's live music most Saturday evenings, Ladies Nights, Movie Nights, Singles Nights and tomorrow—Thursday, April 2—Wine & Wii Night, which frankly sounds a hoot. But, as Christine points out, even if you can't make it to one of the bashes, "we always have several wines open for customer to come in and try."
