Dave wrote a few months ago about a new brewery opening in Costa Mesa called Barley Forge. This is the brewery owned by Greg Nylen, an attorney in his previous life, his wife Mary Ann Frericks, and co-founders David Chapman and Dave Stolte, who's also its design director. The brewmaster is none other than David Huls, who was lured away from TAPS in Brea, as our own Dave wrote. The brewmaster is Kevin Buckley, formerly of Latitude 33 in Vista.

Barley Forge opened this weekend, seven days a week. (Check their website for hours). Want to see a sampling of the beers they might have on tap when you get there? Check out their website.

As Dave also mentioned in his post, Barley Forge also has food. Now we have details on what exactly. A menu posted on their Facebook features a charcuterie plate, grilled corn, beans, a sausage stick, brats, sliders, and other manner of tube steak, because what goes better with a beer than a hot dog?

This is, by the way, just their soft opening. Expect their full line-up of beer and more food when they actually have their grand opening on November 15.
