If I wasn't busy doing...something, I'd be writing this from beautiful Tijuana, where the Baja Culinary Fest is going on now. The annual showcase of everything wonderful, culinary-wise, in Baja is a four-day fest of great lectures, cool demos, and non-stop gluttony--and affordable AF.

SHOW ME HOW
There's a lot of awesome events scheduled for the weekend, but if you can only spare a day, go to Saturday. In the morning, OC's own Carlos Salgado is part of a panel, "Alta California Meets Baja California" that also includes fellow chingones Chicanos Eduardo Ruiz (Corazón y Miel), Ray Garcia (Broken Spanish), Wes Ávila (Guerilla Tacos) and is moderated by our own Bill Esparza. Also on the panel: legendary Tijuana chef Javier Plascencia, who'll gather the panel that evening to cook at his Caesar's (yes: the restaurant that invented the Caesar's salad).
