New data shows the European Union pig herd is declining at a significant rate, and this is a trend that is being mirrored around the world. Pig farmers have been plunged into loss by high pig-feed costs, caused by the global failure of maize and soya harvests.

The NPA estimates that slaughterings could fall by as much as 10 percent in the second half of next year, which means the price of European pork and pork products may double. “A world shortage of pork and bacon next year is now unavoidable,” the association states.

How could we have let this happen?! Did the bacon bra put us over the edge? Is Slater's 50/50 partly to blame? Will there soon be a black market for the cured meat? Is Miss Piggy's life in danger?
There's no time for questions. Gotta stock up before it's too late.
