A Duo of Food Fundraisers To Keep You Busy All Weekend

UPDATE: (Friday, 10:52 a.m.) Per the event organizer for Saturday's event, Dogzilla will no longer be serving on that day. Aloha Plate will be the only lonchera on site.

What's your weekend looking like (besides a whole lotta sleep)? If you're in a giving mood, and have no particular lunch or dinner plans, stop by one of these local events to support a cause and fill your belly! Saturday is all about the luxe loncheras (including a winner from The Great Food Truck Race). If Sunday is what you're thinking, then cruise to Downtown Fullerton for a former On the Line subject. Details after the jump.

Saturday: If you're in the Huntington Beach area and would like some luxe lonchera love, look no further than Seaview Little League's "Game Day Saturday". Promoted as an opportunity for families to not only avoid fast food, but have a place to hang out, they invite different trucks to their grassy dining room for an afternoon.

The hours are from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and our friends from Dogzilla will be serving up lunch. Also in the neighborhood: Season 4 winners of The Great Food Truck Race, Aloha Plate! The address is 20461 Craimer Lane, and you'll find both loncheras in the back of the little league parking lot, nearest the major and minor fields.

Sunday: On this day, Matador Cantina celebrates their fifth anniversary with live music, small bites and a silent auction. Benefiting Boys Hope Girls Hope, 20% of sales that day and 100% of silent auction proceeds will go towards this charity, which empowers youth to overcome obstacles in their life.

Complimentary nibbles will occur from 2 to 4 p.m. Flamenco trio Ostia will perform until 6 p.m. Participating in the auction may win you golf for four at Pelican Hill, an in-home dinner for eight by chef and general manager David Dennis, and other prizes I couldn't afford.
