While both Anepalco's locations are synonymous with breakfast and brunch, their location inside Ayres Inn in Orange reminds us that dinner would be just as memorable. What we didn't realize was how seasonal it would also be.
An expanded dining room and growing cocktail menu left us no excuse but to check out their new dinner offerings; and we're glad we did.

Creature comforts of autumn find their way into Chef Danny's kitchen. Tortilla soup poured tableside is art in motion. A five chocolate tembleque's creamy texture is a sweet ending to any meal. Yet the course that won us over involved seafood. And if you know us, you'll know that we are seldom rarely enamored by fish.
Our barra vieja base consists of an aromatic seafood broth. A familiar duo of root vegetables starts to fill us up. Yet we are hooked on the barramundi, perfectly seared to showcase both crisp and flaky textures. All of this goodness soaking up that rich liquid brings our components together with every savory spoonful. It's exactly what you'll crave when the sun goes down.
