I despised this sandwich combo all through school, but Cody Storts and the Culinary Militia got me to eat this during a time when I wasn't eating meat. I first tried their PB & J during a pop-up dinner, and was glad to see it resurface at Hopscotch under their dinner and brunch bites.

Their original idea was to have something that would set the tone for the rest of your meal. Carbs that were more playful, less typical than a bread basket. When Mai (their pastry chef) joined the team, her mad Dr. Pepper skills convinced them that a kick ass starter would prove more effective than bread service.

Hell yeah to house pepita butter, seasonal fruit jamming and freshly baked brioche. Sweet, savory, sticky and slathered on bread made in-house. Sure beats elementary school, when I forgot my lunch money and was stuck with less spectacular versions.
