26. Poke at Bear Flag Fish Company

Behold our annual 100 Favorite Dishes countdown! Every day until the publication of our fantabulous Best Of Issue, we'll list our favorite meals this year in descending order. Enjoy, pass it on, and tune in daily!

Editor's note: This week, we're turning over our 100 Favorite Dishes mega-listicle to Charisma Madarang, editor of the fabulous 7Deadly magazine and one hell of a food writer whose posts have rightfully received national attention. Take it, Charisma!

Minimalism reigns at Bear Flag. Slabs of tuna and albacore gleam from behind the glass counter of the fish market that doubles as a restaurant. Caught in an endless summer, tanned beach kids with sun-kissed hair are always found idly waiting in line.

If it's your first time here, do yourself a favor and order up a cup of their poke.

The raw ahi tuna comes chopped in petite cubes that melt on your tongue. Tossed in Sriracha, green onions, soy sauce and sesame seeds, the ahi salad leaves a pleasant spice lingering in your mouth–just enough to keep you craving another bite.

The poke comes with a side of tortilla chips, which seem like a way to stop your from engulfing the entire thing in one go. Safety, first!
