For all my time in Anaheim, I've only ventured to the Hills in the past five years for two things: to cover a residential protest picket and to dine at Meddi Kitchen! The Middle Eastern eatery is posh with a full bar and fancy decor. The menu delights even more with chief Chris Sarkissian serving up the scrumptious platters that earn presentation points, too! (And Weekly honors for Best Middle Eastern grub spot last year)
Anytime I send folks over to Meddi Kitchen, I tell them the experience is incomplete without ordering up some quail.

The fire-grilled appetizer is served semi-boneless. It's meat is never gamy, always tender and for first-timers, yes, it does taste a lil' like chicken. What makes the quail at Medii Kitchen a must have is its skillful seasoning. Syrian pepper gives the dish a nice kick that compliments its tangy citrus counterpart.
I usually pledge my undying love for hole-in-the-wall spots in Anaheim's flatlands. The joy of carnivorously pulling apart the quail limb by limb draws me into the Hills out of my culinary comfort zones!
