After spending the other day at the Landmark, surrounded by bookstore windows advertising the latest upcoming boy-wizard bonanza, I had to wonder if I'm the only one who wants to chant "Har-ry Potter and the DEATHLY HALLOWS! Har-ry Potter and the DEATHLY HALLOWS! " in the style of the Beastie Boys yelling about Ali Baba and the 40 thieves.

Just got a call from our cover boy Jim "Poorman" Trenton -- it seems the Knott's Halloween Haunt episode, referenced in the article, will be airing tonight.
During the course of the evening, he cornered me on camera, and apparently some of that footage made the final cut.
So check it out, won't you? 11:30 p.m. on KDOC
It was only a month ago that we wrote about Jim "The Poorman" Trenton's triumphant return to KDOC, and at that time, the station seemed very happy to have him back.
Not for long. Poorman's Bikini Beach has been taken off the air, in what appears to be a dispute over some of his advertisers. In response to an emailed query by the Weekly, KDOC's Bert Ellis wrote "Jim never tried to go mainstream with his show or his advertising. He did not grow with the opportunity." The suit alleges breach of contract, and demands damages "in a sum according to proof at trial, but not less that $27,646" for revenues lost due to ads being pulled from the TV show Poorman's Bikini Beach, ads involving the adult DVD companies Landmark Video, Maximum Mojo, and genital wart removal specialist Dr. Jeffrey Lauber.
Curiously
Jim "Poorman" Trenton, local "celebrity" and self-described "most fired man in show business" (see "Enter Poorman," Nov. 8, and "Exit Poorman," Jan. 3] is once again caught up in controversy after his May 16 third-annual Bikini Mile at Hollywood Park Race Track and Casino in Inglewood.
The event, which featured 16 strippers jiggling down the horse track in bikinis, seemed to have offended some of the top brass at the famous horse-racing and gambling venue because of it's "lewdness," says Market
He's been all over the radio dial. He's burned through all the local broadcast television channels. Now Poorman is headed for the infinite bandwidth of the World Wide Web.
God help us all . . .
