My uncle would never forgive me if I didn't mention Tom Lehrer's scathing, brilliant "Christmas Carol.." Unfortunately, only the lyrics are available on-line, and the only performance of the song is a dreadful reading performed by the even more dreadful Christopher Hitchens. Do Not Want. O
As if there were any other way to end this thingie--the best Christmas song of all time, courtesy of iconic Irish folk punks the Pogues and the late, great Kirsty MacColl. Perhaps the only Christmas song to use the word "faggot," and in an oddly inoffensive way. "I could have been someone," "Well, so could anyone." Too true. I missed a couple days last weekend, so some bonus Christmas tunes are after the jump!

Rob Zombie, who built his career on songs like "Living Dead Girl" and directed the last two Halloween movies, is playing the Grove of Anaheim on the day after Halloween (November 1, for the non-calendar inclined). That's a pretty big coup, akin to getting the Pogues to play on St. Patrick's Day. Well, the day after St. Patrick's Day, at least.
