During his interview with OC Weekly, Austin touched on numerous subjects beyond his new movie career. There wasn't room enough to cover all of them in print; here, for the fans, he offers up some additional uncensored opinions.
On rumors of a WWE-brand beer:
Oh, we were going to come out with a beer. And then we were in the middle of research & development and I even went down to Rochester, NY, to the place where we was gonna make the beer and participated in some of the testing and tasti
Trailer is shown for the Get Smart movie, starring Steve Carell. Looks like a big-budget deal. Anne Hathaway is super-hot as Agent 99; Terrence Stamp is Siegfried, leader of KAOS. The Rock is Agent 22, Alan Arkin is the CHief, and it looks like WWE monstrosity Great Khali is in there too.
Scenes in the trailer: 99 holds a gun to Smart's head, says "Freeze!" He says "freeze" back. She replies "No, you freeze!" Smart: "Freeze times infinity!"
Trailer's final money shot is Smart flying a jet figh
Earlier this year, I got to meet former WWE champion Stone Cold Steve Austin for an exclusive OC Weekly interview. Many of my fellow wrestling fans were jealous.
But now, they too can meet him. As can you. He's coming to Anaheim to herald the DVD release of his movie THE CONDEMNED, which comes out on DVD tomorrow. Buy the disc, and he'll sign it. It's unfortunate the movie wasn't a bit more solid, but at least on disc you can skip the horrendously preachy ending and skip straight to Austin's wh
One would think sitting at an Anaheim Wal-Mart and signing copies of The Condemned would be a career low for former WWE champ Stone Cold Steve Austin. But the line winding through the store aisles and the chaos that was the Wal-Mart parking lot yesterday evening indicate otherwise. A friend and I had stepped in to check out the Halloween decor - completely spacing LYT's post about the event - and were scratching our heads at the some-thousand people there. Then we saw the man and everything made
Remember R. Scott Moxley's challenge to a certain former sheriff? The one in which he dared Michael S. Carona to play the contents of secret tapes containing conversations between himself and former assistant sheriff Don Haidl? The same tapes Carona said would prove his innocence?! Well, Mox threw down the gauntlet over a month ago, and, unsurprisingly, the Carona camp didn't take it up. Instead, over the weekend, the news broke that Carona's attorneys filed a motion to throw said tapes out. Hm
Since I was getting hassled by security for the first hour because I mistakenly thought my press creds sort of implied I was bringing a camera to the Honda Center Monday night, staff writer Luke Thompson gives this report of the dark matches:
"I got inside just in time to hear Hacksaw Jim Duggan’s music signal a victory for the board-wielding goofball, whose shtick still entertains all these years since the height of his fame. Was sorry to miss him. When I used to play with Hasbro action figu
Before anyone asks what this has to do with Orange County, I'll tell you:
Headliner John Cena received his training right here in OC, at Rick Bassman's Ultimate Pro Wrestling.

Eight years ago, this year's co-headliner Triple H became the first ever "bad guy" to win the main event at WrestleMania...in Anaheim at what is now the Honda Center. WWE and OC have a history.
Results, as they happen:
-Kane won a battle royal to become number one contender for the ECW title.
-JBL defeated Finlay
Music critics occasionally venture a crack at reviewing WWE music compilations, but they often miss the mark, because you simply cannot just act as if this is some regular compilation CD and assess the songs simply as songs. Not for the most part. But to explain, I need to back up a little bit...
There are different kinds of WWE compilations. The basic type is usually, but not always, entitled "WWE the music volume whatever." The tracks on them are mostly superstar ring entrance music, which is
Want to send a message to dad that you think he's a steroid-abusing drunk? Got twenty-five bucks? Boy, do we have the gift for you.
In the embarrassing tradition of John Cena valentine T-shirts for women, and "Get Lit for the Holidays" tees featuring the company logo in Christmas lights (yes, I'm the proud owner of that one), Vince McMahon's marketing gurus once again try to go the Hallmark route. So you have a T-shirt that says you're the WWE's best dad, and a six-pack cooler so you can get dr
The LA Times, industry publications the Wrestling Observer and Sherdog and plenty of other sources report that autopsy results are leading authorities to believe that the deaths of an Orange County professional mixed martial arts fighter and his wife were exactly what they appeared to be when news broke yesterday: a murder-suicide.Justin Levens, 28, and his wife, Sarah McLean-Levens, 25, were found dead from gunshot wounds Wednesday afternoon at their Laguna Niguel condominium. The gun was foun
The Ultimate Warrior was once one of the WWF's biggest stars, holding titles and even beating orange-tanned icon Hulk Hogan at 1990's Wrestlemania VI in Toronto. Things haven't gone quite so well for the guy since then, having legally changed his name to "Warrior" in 1993, saying that "queering doesn't make the world work" while giving a speech at the University of Connecticut (why the Ultimate Warrior was giving a speech at UConn, who knows) and rockin' this look. Hey, some wrestlers have been
