Liskfest, a punk rock/hardcore festival scheduled for this Saturday at Oak Canyon Ranch in Irvine will not include Pennywise, the event's originally scheduled headliners.
Though all of the recent advertisements are sans Pennywise, like this flier on the show's MySpace, enough people are still confused (like soon-to-be-disappointed MySpacer Marc, who wrote on the page's comments yesterday, "What hell happen with Pennywise? Are they still playing?") that the guys behind hits like "Alien" felt it

Hope, change, and unity were used as themes in hardcore music long before the current political candidates incorporated these ideas into their campaigns. A sense of community united the Liskfest as it was snatched from the jaws of cancellation by some last minutes investors. It was a picture per
Let's face it, good local punk bands are hard to come by these days. Seldom does one find the kind of balls-out, hundred-mile-an-hour fury that fuels sweaty mosh pits and unshakable spiky-haired camaraderie on a consistent basis. And behind the Orange curtain, this is an especially harsh reality. That is, until you step onto the concert floor of a Wastey face show. For avid local show goers, Thursday sparks the age old question, "what the fuck are we going to do tonight?" Only this time, that question actually has an answer at the end of it, since you've got plenty of live acts to choose from all over the place. A speedy Google search of your favorite late night haunts should tell you as much. Fr
Bassist Eric Wilson and drummer Bud Gaugh are hitting the stage as Sublime, just like they did in February. But unlike the previous gig, held at some tiny Mexican restaurant in a Nevada town no one's ever heard of, this show is actually pretty big. It's part of Cypress Hill's Smokeout, a gathering of bands, booths and most importantly, weed. The Sublime reunion might get the most attention, but the lineup is actually pretty good. Scheduled to hit the stage on Oct. 23 and 24 is Slipknot (ok, no
