Sneakerhead culture's always been a little baffling to me. I think everyone knows of someone by now who dedicates their lives and entire paychecks to collecting limited edition, rare, exclusive or original sneaks... and then doesn't wear them. Ever.
They'll fly to Tokyo for the latest neon patent leather explosion from BAPE or snipe out eBay for Jordans or Dunks on a daily basis, all in hopes for that one pair of freaking shoes their fellow sneakerheads don't already have.

In case my story in this week's print edition wasn't enough for you, I was kind enough to transcribe my interview with singer/songwriter Tim Barry for your reading pleasure. Tim's a great person to talk to and I hope you have half as much fun reading this as I did conducting the interview.
There aren't too many bands, at least to those with quirky sensibilities, as appealing as New York trio We Are Scientists. Just check out their official site--it features "good new jokes" on the front page, like "Between Judas and the Romans, Jesus got double-crossed!" and "What did the happy book say to his friend, also a book? 'We have a very good shelf life!'" There's also a "reviews" section, where the band members give their thoughts on such awesome things as "The Best New Names for E
