  • Knott's Berry Farm Welcomes Veterans

Sure, there are easier ways to get inside Knott's Berry Farm than joining the military (there used to be a great way sneak in off of La Palma and. . . well, let's just leave it at that), but for those Americans who've already taken the military oath, KBF is offering free admission now through Thanksgiving Day to veterans with proper identification (DD214, Veterans Administration Hospital I.D. or Active Military Service I.D.). Veterans are also allowed to purchase up to six tickets for $12.95. T

  • A Doctor Walks Into A Bar...

...And proceeds to fondle and otherwise molest his patients? Switch out the bar to an examining room and that's what the OC District Attorney's office is alleging that David Hung Do, a Kaiser doctor who worked in La Palma and Anaheim, did to three female patients between June 2007 and July 2008. Do was arrested last Friday on charges that he touched the female patients' breasts and vaginas beneath their clothing while performing "routine" medical exams at Kaiser hospitals and urgent care centers

  • Wholesome Choice to Open New Store in Anaheim Hills

We have great tipsters*. Jerry de Vera is no exception. He sent me these pictures of his sighting, and it's a big one: A new location of Wholesome Choice, that Persian-market-cum-Whole-Foods-cum-International-Food-Court. He writes: "I noticed construction at this former Albertson's on my way to a Vietnamese restaurant located a few doors down. It's located in Anaheim Hills at the corner of Imperial Highway and La Palma, just north of the 91 Freeway." "I am a big fan of the Irvine Wholesome

In "Out of Tune" Gustavo Arellano interviews Bob Gunn, the man who helped Mariners Chruch become an evangelical giant. Then the church fired him for being gay, and they've been in and out of court since. News has Matt Coker explaining why Pastor Wiley Drake thinks he still has a unseating Barack Obama--sorry, Barack Hussein Obama in "The Preacher vs. the President-Elect."And R. Scott Moxley takes a look at the new math on how many Mike Carona campaign contributors got badges in "Moxley Confident

  • Mobile Dairy Classroom Ignores La Palma, Cypress, and Why That Matters

It's cool that the Dairy Council of California is in the midst of an Orange County elementary school tour involving a Holstein cow and calf and lessons on how milk is made, but there's just one major oversight. The self-described "educational milking parlor on wheels" will visit kiddies in SanTana, Orange, Anaheim, and Buena Park, but whither Cypress and La Palma? After all, those two cities were the epicenter of the Orange County milking industry, so much so that each originally incorporated as

  • New Anaheim Hills Wholesome Choice Expected To Open Tomorrow

For those in Anaheim Hills waiting in anticipation for a taste of freshly baked sangak bread, I have an update on Wholesome Choice, the Persian-market-cum-Whole-Foods-cum-International-Food-Court that will be opening in your neighborhood.  As you may recall in a post last December, I wrote that it was slated to debut in February. Today, I got in touch with one of the managers who said that the Anaheim Hills store is "supposed to open this Friday, March 27th".  That's tomorrow!  Please comme

It'd be great if there was some great reporting assignment in a far-off jungle with an unreliable wireless connection that caused IaQR from appearing yesterday. The truth is, the author forgot to write it. And, judging by the avalanche of response from disappointed readers--an avalanche that surely will start any millennium now--it was sorely missed.
