Dublab is an excellent web radio station run by some of SoCal's most skilled musicians and DJs, many of whom will be touring Europe with Prefuse 73 Sept. 1-15. The annual sonic bacchanal known as South by Southwest goes down March 12-16. Every year, several thousand music-biz types, musicians and ordinary mortals with more money than sense descend upon downtown Austin, Texas, cramming five months of musical activity into five days. Day 2 of SXSW
In my last post, I predicted Holy Fuck's set would be very hard to surpass. Well, I think it was at least equaled by a few artists on the bill at Barcelona—all instrumental hip-hop artists, in fact (Nosaj Thing, Free the Robots, Gaslamp Killer and Flying Lotus). Who would've thought such types would be standouts at SXSW? I mean, there wasn't a guitar to be found in the joint all night...

LAist has about 20 artists they say are "confirmed" for Coachella (coming up soon! April 17-19!), and many more that are "rumored"--and given that just about every act of note is "rumored" for Coachella at this point in the year, a classification that's about as meaningful as last night's Golden Globes (though any night when Tracy Morgan and Bruce Springsteen both get to give acceptance speeches is pretty awesome).Here's who they say are confirmed:
