It's been a weird year as far as announcing acts for Coachella go, mainly since they haven't yet.It's usually around this time, but a few days earlier--last year it was announced on Jan. 21. Word came earlier today that it was going to be announced on KROQ at 7:20 a.m. tomorrow (because, y'know, KROQ plays so many of your typical Coachella performers), and as I steeled myself to be up that early (or just not go to bed) and find out with the rest of the world, this comes through on the station's
People are saying "epic" a lot these days. Way too much. And not just in reference to the Faith No More song or ancient longform poems like Beowulf, for pretty much anything. A sandwich can be epic, or an episode of "The New Adventures of Old Christine." It's a real problem, one that probably started with the "epic fail" Internet meme, and now its unfortunately seeped its way into music, infiltrating the already sticky territory of genre classification:
