Dog lovers and cruel cackling people who like to dress their pets in degrading outfits and drag them around town gathered in Long Beach yesterday for the Haute Dogs 7th Annual Howl’oween Parade. Livingston Park and 2nd Street were overtaken by more than 600 costumed creatures and countless spectators, many armed with cameras to document the somewhat head-scratching spectacle.

Back in October, I mentioned a conversation I had had with KDOC head honcho Bert Ellis, who wanted to get the word out to fans that a lot of the old Wally George archives were missing.
Well, some kind soul managed to get hold of the old 12" E.P. "Wal-ly, Wal-ly," on which Wally, ahem, "sings," and put recordings of it up on a Myspace page for all to hear. The anonymous benefactor claims he'll soon be adding tracks from Wally's full-length album, "Wally George Sings the Rock Hits."

When Long Beach/Cypress band the Lyrics Game were profiled in OC Weekly's Locals Only section last month, one observation in the article was the lack of focus on their cellist, Chris McCarthy, on their five-song EP Home Edition. It was speculated there that things would probably be different in a live context, and this video seems to back up that theory, with the cello (quite literally) front and center for a performance of their newest (as yet untitled) song, at a gig this past Friday at Clancy
