  • INDIEFEST/FAIF -- DAY 4

Not every day at a film fest yields winners. On the contrary, some reveal their auteurs as wieners. Okay, that’s unnecessarily flip. Normally, I try to give some credit to struggling directors, and find the good even in the bad. I also felt a bit bad at having walked out on some of the previous programs – a practice I find unforgivable if reviewing a single film for assignment, but more acceptable if the article being worked on is a multi-film piece, like a festival wrap-up. I've been expounding on the genius of Rotten.com in the Weekly's pages for years--not so much the gore but rather their fabulous library and Daily Rotten (think of it as Wikipedia and the Drudge Report written by libertarian conspiracy- and porno-obsessed geeks--but isn't this characterization quadruply redundant?). Orange County dots the Library--read these wonderful entries on Disneyland and Richard Nixon, but we occasionally make the weird history that is their "Today in Rotten History" eleme

Mmm, yeah. There are no words. The only Garth Brooks songs I can think of off the top of my head right now seem wholly inappropriate for lullabye material--"Friends In Low Places" (drinking!), "The Thunder Rolls" (domestic abuse!). But you have to admit that the headset microphone on that dog is a nice, and adorable, touch.

www.hitthebitch.dk"Hit the Bitch" suffers a black eye.The furor over "Hit the Bitch" now prevents you from visiting the supposed "anti-violence website" out of Denmark that allows a mouse-powered (and male-looking) hand to repeatedly smack and slap a young woman.
