Since Ronald Reagan turned it into a bloodsport, most journalists in this country are routinely assumed to carry a liberal media bias ("Guilty!"). One place you'll often see that bandied about is in the Orange County Register--not directed at its own fleet of word monkeys, oh no, no, no, but journos anywhere and everywhere else.
The way the old saw goes is most reporters cannot be trusted to report The Truth because they harbor biases that slant The Truth a certain way.

'Biggest racist ever' back on Anaheim school board: Last week, the Anaheim Union School District appointed Harald Martin to an open board seat created by the death of Denise Mansfield-Reinking. I managed to obtain the board's top-secret qualifications checklist for Martin: Racist, check. Uneducated cop mentality, check. Nincompoop, check. Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner! Of course, I'm kidding. Nothing was top secret. We all know about Martin's history during his previous board service.
I hope you're sitting down. For one thing, checking a blog while standing up is just ... weird.

The on-again, off-again hearing on the 241 Foothill South toll road extension by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce is back on, from 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 22, and in an old/new home, O'Brien Hall at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, or the same place the California Coastal Commission met, took testimony and ultimately voted 8-2 against paving Lexus lanes over state park land.
The hearing was to go off last month in the Bren Events Center until fears about the expected crowd size, coupled with a sl
Orange County Register: Mickadeit: He peels off a classic on the squabble between Donna Crean's kids over her fate. . . . Did you feel the window-rattling jolt about 9:15 last night? I did. I figured it was a small earthquake, although it was very quick, like a sonic boom. It violently shook my back patio sliding glass window for about half a second. Hundreds of people all across Orange County experienced this also--and they informed "Science Dude" Gary Robbins, who checked a

Orange County Register: Remember that recent lawsuit brought by the Newport Beach cop who claimed to have been passed over for promotions amid rumors and derogatory comments he was gay? Moxley has been blogging all about it. Anyhoo, Buena Park police officer Pedro Montez has filed a suit alleging the same thing--with a Latin twist! CALIENTE! . . . Assemblywoman Diane Harkey put forth a resolution back in February to keep ex-Guantanamo detainees out of Camp Pendleton. With Barack Obama set to close the notorious, quasi-constitutional prison some time next year, Harkey wants to make sure the administration doesn't even think about putting any of the maybe-terrorists in her district's military base.Last week, she explained her reasoning to the Sacramento Statehouse Examiner:"It is very, very important that they are in

What happens when just before being released from duty at Camp Pendleton for the weekend, you allegedly: participate in a mandatory safety briefing that covers the dangers of drunken driving, including the tidbit that should you get behind the wheel while drunk, you'll likely kill someone; go on to chug alcohol for two hours; tell everyone you're going to drive home to Santa Ana; pass out in your barracks; have your car keys removed from your pocket as you're passed out by a lance corporal; w
