Jack's Mannequin, the current project of Something Corporate lead singer and Dana Hills High School in Dana Point alumnus Andrew McMahon, is playing a "secret" show tonight at the Viper Room in West Hollywood.
Why is "secret" in sarcastic quotation marks? Well, it's announced on both the Jack's Mannequin site and the Viper Room's site. Though the Jack's Mannequin site says tickets are available online, that appears to not be true, so walk-up at the door is probably your only hope. And a slim on
It's been a relatively quiet few weeks at the Grove of Anaheim as of late, but that looks to be changing soon with some solid show announcements, including a homecoming for former OC resident Andrew McMahon (pictured) and The Go-Go's. They got the beat, you know. Details after the jump, yep.
We talked earlier this week about Jack's Mannequin, led by Dana Hills High School album Andrew McMahon, coming to the Grove of Anaheim on May 18. Tickets were to go on sale tomorrow. Well, that's no longer happening, as Jack's Mannequin is postponing the latter half of their tour with Matt Nathanson in favor of going on a big ol' summer tour with The Fray. You can read the whole scoop from McMahon himself here, who promises that the headlining shows will be made up in the fall.
Everyone I've talked to about the OC Music Awards nominee list, released yesterday, seems to have the same reaction: Huh? Why are young, unsigned bands like The Jakes competing against veteran, internationally known acts like The Offspring, who had Billboard's #1 Hot Modern Rock Track for 11 weeks last year?

Well, the pioneers of Grey's Anatomy-rock and the similarly minded Jack's Mannequin, led by Orange County product Andrew McMahon, are coming to Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine on July 29. They should totally call the tour "the pimps of piano rock" or something wacky like that (it's no "Monsters of Megaphone," but what is?). Fellow piano-heavy troupe Vedera open u

Last Night: The Fray, Jack's Mannequin and Vedera at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater, Irvine; July 29, 2009.Alternative rockers The Fray, Jack's Mannequin and Vedera paid a visit to the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater Wednesday; entertaining a sold-out crowd of teenyboppers, college kids, and post-grads (although, surprisingly, there was a strong representation from the 30 crowd).
Following dates opening for the Fray on a big ol' national tour (one that stopped in Irvine a couple of weeks ago), Jack's Mannequin singer and pianist Andrew McMahon is going out on his own for a bit, with a solo tour that stops at the House of Blues in Anaheim on October 27. Tickets are on sale this Saturday at 10 a.m. for $22.50, and $25 at the door day of show. That's only, though, if you're not a Jack's Mannequin superfan and part of the band's online community--in that case, you can get
