Never thought way back in ’04, when these dudes were freaking around Que Sera (or wherever it was), the possibilities for them would be truly endless. Now it’s 2011, and the Black Lips are the Blues Magoos of their day: hanging out at the top of the popular teenage consciousness, but still able to knock out some unreconstructed rock & roll. Mark Ronson’s producing them, and they headline cruise ships, but they still sound like the Bomp! Records band they started as—fuzz, snot, boom-boom-chk drums—and they still look pretty healthy, too!
