When it comes to dredging the electronically infused sounds of KROQ’s flashback lunch, New York’s Cold Cave have that shit on lock. Here’s what you need to know about them: Dark and moody synth-pop, reminiscent of a handful of post punk bands such as Joy Division, or New Order mixed with the ambient sonic tinkering of Edgar Froese or Brian Eno. They can get a little swirly with a sound that’s as buzzy and fuzzy as sonic cotton, but they also have songs with serious hookage.
