In 2008, the Love Me Nots released a record called Detroit, helmed by noted Detroit-based producer Jim Diamond, who in the past has worked with the White Stripes (also from Detroit) and the Dirtbombs (yep, Detroit), and full of the type of unrestrained garage rock that you’d expect from, here it comes, Detroit. But the Love Me Nots are actually from Phoenix and despite being more familiar with saguaros than auto manufacturing, they’ve managed to produce three authentically raw records that defy conventional geographical boundaries.
