After watching Beyoncé and Jennifer Hudson belt it out on the big screen, it’s hard to imagine the stage version of Dreamgirls (its original medium) would have even an inkling of the same powerhouse delivery. But since the show’s debut in 1981 (which won about a million awards), Dreamgirls has been a smash hit for theater lovers, each incarnation brimming with glitz and drama.
