Heres a blast from the past for all you grommets and hodads. This Wednesday, check out a screening of the camptastic 80s surf romp North Shore. Its the story of a naive young Arizonian named Rick Kane who, after learning to shred a stick in the local wave pool, heads for Oahus North Shore. Once there, he finds its not all coconuts and palm trees as the universe itself threatens to wash his sea-battered corpse into a corral cave. Confronted by a colorful pidgin lexicon featuring such epithetical gems as Kook, Barney and Haole, Kane attempts to dodge the slings and arrows of surly locals while tussling with a surf gang known as the Hui for the affections of comely young local girl.
