Long Beach voters are used to seeing Peter Mathews on the campaign trail.  Running for office is kind of “his thing”—he’s been trying (and failing) to get elected to city and state government for about 20 years. As the progressive Democratic candidate pushes his ongoing Congressional campaign for California’s 37th District, Mathews is amping up efforts to defeat incumbent Laura Richardson in June. Luckily, he’s drummed up some solid support from local musicians who are willing to take the stage in a benefit concert for his campaign this week at Alex’s Bar.
