Southern California may be nearing comic-book-convention critical mass. The globally gargantuan Comic-Con International in San Diego is just a short drive away, and Wizard magazine’s latest entry in its con empire is scheduled for April in Anaheim. But don’t discount the start-up Long Beach Comic Con, which has put together an impressive list of exhibitors and guests for its first go, including Marvel Comics über legend Stan Lee—along with the usual lineup of marginal TV stars of the past, such as Josie Davis from Charles In Charge and the dude who played Ensign Kim on Star Trek Voyager . And in what’s billed as his “first comic-convention guest appearance,” Berkeley Breathed will be signing copies of The Bloom County Library.... More >>>
