The inky black shapes of Danny Schutt’s artwork are so exquisitely executed that, together, they produce nearly photographic images of his subjects: revolutionaries, laborers, industrial workers and other hard-living people who’ve gone through the ringer and kept on fighting—much like Schutt himself.
