Who Kills for PORN?!
Jay Brockman

Scott Kruger, a 31 year-old man from Newport Beach, doesn't know what the Internet is for. Here is a tip: the Internet is for porn, toothache-cute videos of animals, and general LOLs (just ask the SEC, they have the porn thing all figured out). Kruger's failure to understand this fact allegedly led to the death of Hao Huynh, for which he goes to trial tomorrow. He faces one felony count of special circumstances murder in the commission of a robbery. And what was  Kruger trying to steal?

Porn, of course, in print form. According to the Orange County DA's office, on July 28, 2007, Kruger allegedly strolled into Sportsman Liquor Store in Newport Beach. Kruger thought he'd be clever and buy a pack of cigarettes to distract from the fact that he had a magazine concealed in his clothing. Huynh allegedly spotted the strange shape in Kruger's pants when he came to the counter, so he followed Kruger out of the store and tried to snatch the magazine back. Rather than letting it go, according to prosecutors, Kruger then turned to Huynh and shoved him so hard that he flew through the air and landed on the back of his head.

Kruger then continued to be a sad stack of human waste, as the DA goes on to explain.

"Kruger is accused of picking up the magazine and briefly standing over the victim with a clenched fist to make sure that Huynh did not get up. Kruger is accused of then fleeing the scene with the stolen pornographic magazine."

Upcoming Events

Hao Huynh and his wife had been running the liquor store since 1992. He died the following day from traumatic brain injuries.

Later, when the cops searched Kruger's home, they found the stolen porno mag. If convicted, Kruger faces a maximum sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
