So what'd you miss? This weekend we helped celebrate Gay Days Anaheim, both at their Friday night kick-off “Wonderland” and also at Disneyland Resort. We also checked out the Newport Beach Sandcastle Contest, Seal Beach Japanese Kite Festival… and the cutest of all, the Interfaith Blessing of the Animals and Chihuahua Beauty Contest in Long Beach.

On Saturday morning, the Interfaith Blessing of the Animals took place at Marine Stadium in Long Beach.

All sorts of animals turned up–dogs, cats, porcupines, horses, pigs, birds of prey, foxes… you know, the usual.

Later, the
Chihuahua Beauty Contest happened, as chihuahuas and their owners strutted their stuff down the catwalk.

Also on Sunday: the Japan America Kite Festival
in Seal Beach. Photographer Keith May reports that grey skies and a lack
of wind failed to ground spirits. See the pics here.
