UPDATE, MAY 2, 9:42 A.M.: The 21-year-old man shot to death Friday afternoon in what Santa Ana Police believe was a gang shooting has been identified as Daniel Gonzalez Jr. of Santa Ana.
A description of his suspected killer has not been released, but police are investigating the murder of the Santa Ana man as gang retaliation for the stabbing of a rival earlier in the day.

The attacking vehicle sped off.
Santa Ana Police believe the shooting is related to a stabbing that happened about an hour earlier on West Halesworth Street. An unidentified male was attacked by a group of people, suffered minor injuries and refused medical treatment or to cooperate with investigators.
His attackers were members of a rival gang who were in the white sedan that was fired upon, police believe. But no one is really talking. Anyone who witnessed the shooting or can otherwise help investigators is asked to call 714.245.8648.
