Here is how the OCDA breaks down what allegedly happened on Dec. 14:

Originally identified by police as being from Victorville, Luciozamudio was living in a detached garage in Buena Park and had been close with Rios for about a month when they got into a physical fight around 3:30 a.m. Luciozamudio had refused Rios' attempt to
“initiate a sexual act,” and in the heat of the altercation to older man threw a cement block at
the younger man's car.

Luciozamudio allegedly responded by punching Rios repeatedly, breaking his jaw, nose, orbital bone
and several ribs. Luciozamudio then split and shortly thereafter phoned 9-1-1 to report that Rios may need medical assistance.

Rios was dead when police arrived.

UPDATE, DEC. 14, 4:29 P.M.: Let this be a lesson to men in their 50s: do NOT get into fights with guys in their early 20s.

Especially if he's swinging a blunt instrument.

Edgar Lucio Zamudio
Salvador Luciozamudio is accused of being such a killer, as the 22-year-old
identified as being from Victorville turned himself in to Buena Park Police this afternoon and was arrested
on suspicion of murder.

Zamudio is the only suspect in the case, according to Buena Park Police, who previously indicated they were looking for the man who called dispatch early this morning to report he'd been in a fight with the deceased, who was not looking so hot.

It appears the victim, who has not been identified pending notification of next of kin, suffered blunt-force trauma to his head from some type of weapon, according to police, who are awaiting autopsy results that can pin down the official cause of death.

Police say Zamudio initially refused to return to the home for questioning. He was arrested after an interview with investigators at the police station.

ORIGINAL POST, DEC. 14, 10:54 A.M.: Buena Park Police received a call around 3:45 a.m. today from a man who
said he fought with a friend and was now concerned about the fellow's
health. Officers later arrived to a home in the 5900 block of
Marshall Avenue, near Artesia Boulevard, and found a dead man in his
50s. Cops are now investigating his death as a homicide, and they want
to find the man who called them.

The caller is considered a “person of interest” in the apparent
homicide, according to police, who are combing the one-story home for evidence and searching the surrounding neighborhood for witnesses.
