[UPDATED with No Charges:] Sean Brown, Nephew of Late Nicole Brown Simpson and Son of Anti-Domestic Violence Group Founder, Held for Spousal Abuse
UPDATE, DEC. 28, 11:08 A.M.: The Orange County District Attorney's office declined to file charges against Sean Brown and his girlfriend Amy Johnson, according to MSNBC.
ORIGINAL POST, DEC. 27, 12:59 P.M.: In the wake of the brutal murder of Nicole Brown Simpson, her sister Denise Brown of Dana Point famously founded a foundation to combat domestic violence.
But, with today's arrest of Denise Brown's son Sean Brown on felony corporal injury on a spouse, it seems that spousal rage was not confined to O.J. Simpson's side of the family.
Of course, like O.J., one is presumed innocent until proven guilty. OK, scratch that: only in the case of O.J. one is presumed guilty even after being proven not guilty. That's not the point. The point is, around 2:30 in the morning, Santa Ana Police received a call about a domestic dispute in an apartment in the 100 block of Macarthur Boulevard.
Officers arrived to find a couple nursing superficial wounds to one another. Because it was presumed—there we go presuming again—that each had created the other's injuries, both were jailed.
Neither 25-year-old Brown nor his girlfriend, Amy Johnson, 22, required hospitalization, Santa Ana Police noted. Each was held in lieu of $50,000 bail in Orange County Jail.
Denise Brown founded the Nicole Brown Simpson Foundation after the 1994 death of her sister.
