[UPDATED with I.D.:] Roman Nafarrate, OC Homicide No. 45: Shot to Death in Anacrime Alley

ORIGINAL POST, NOV. 8, 10:15 A.M.: It's been a bloody year in the streets of Anaheim, and they just got bloodier. A man in his 30s was pronounced dead at UCI Medical Center Wednesday night after being discovered with a gunshot wound in an alley in the 1500 block of South Hampstead Street, according to police.

Cops got a call around 6 p.m. of shots fired in that area and a man down in the alley. A confrontation between an unknown number of people may have preceded the gunfire, according to police.

It is too early to know whether the shooting can be tied to gang activity, add investigators, who are seeking the public's help through Orange County Crime Stoppers at 855.TIP.OCCS (847.6227). Tips can be left anonymously.

UPDATE, NOV. 8, 5:51 P.M.: Police have identified the deceased as Roman Nafarrate, 38, of Anaheim.

Still no confirmation it was another Anaheim gang shooting.
