ORIGINAL POST, MARCH 4, 8:21 A.M.: What's the opposite of a drive-by shooting?
The shooting of someone driving by, which is what witnesses say happened to a man found lying in the street in the 3400 block of West Olinda Lane, Anaheim, Sunday evening. The unidentified fellow later died at UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange.
Anaheim police received a call around 5 p.m. Sunday about the man wounded in the street near an apartment complex. Officers arrived to discover he'd sustained at least one gunshot wound; despite life-saving efforts, he later died.
Witnesses said he was driving on West Olinda when he was fired upon from a group of six or so males, who scattered after the shooting. The victim's car then collided with parked vehicles before he presumably got out and collapsed on the street.
