UPDATE, DEC. 18, 9:49 A.M.: A man found murdered in his apartment in the 200 block of South
Western Avenue, near West Del Monte Drive, in Anaheim has been identified as 80-year-old Il Jae Kim. “Officers entered the apartment and found Kim deceased from wounds believed to be suffered at the hands of another and his death is being investigated as a homicide,” says Sgt. Bob Dunn, the Anaheim Police spokesman, in a statement. “The manner in which Kim died is still under investigation.”

ORIGINAL POST, DEC. 16, 11:50 A.M.: Just after 9 p.m. Thursday, Anaheim Police were called to check on a man
in his 80s who lives in an apartment in the 200 block of South
Western Avenue, near West Del Monte Drive.
Officers who later entered with the help of the man's family members found a murder victim.
“It's unknown if he was shot, stabbed or strangled,” Anaheim police Sgt. Bob Dunn told the Orange County Register.
With no immediate description of wounds, homicide investigators assigned to the case and the agency reaching out to the public for clues as to when and why the man was killed, it can be assumed he likely died some time ago–but you know what they say about assuming.
