[UPDATED with Dead Man's I.D.:] Santa Ana Man Held in Stabbing Death of One and Wounding of Another Outside Fourth Street Dive Bar


UPDATE, OCT. 25, 12:42 P.M.: The 28-year-old man who was stabbed to death early Saturday outside Fern's Bar on Fourth Street in Long Beach has been identified as the incredibly named Tommy Buck Whitson IV of Long Beach. Police have yet to identify the other 28-year-old, who suffered non-life threatening stab wounds, or the 24-year-old Santa Ana man who has been arrested for the attack, citing the ongoing investigation.

ORIGINAL POST, OCT. 24, 10:33 A.M.: A 24-year-old Santa Ana man has been arrested in the early morning
stabbing death of one man and wounding of another outside Fern's Bar, a
Fourth Street dive bar that's across the street from another popular
Long Beach watering hole eatery, Hole Mole.

Police have not yet released
names of the 28-year-old victims or the suspect, who was arrested in
Anaheim several hours after the stabbing.

Officers were called to a parking lot in the 1200 block of East Fourth Street around 1:50 a.m. Saturday about a stabbing that occurred after three men were fighting. Waiting there were the two stabbing victims, who were rushed to a local hospital where one later died. The other man was treated for non-life threatening injuries, according to Long Beach Police.
