UPDATE, JULY 14, 4:14 P.M.: Former NFL player Eric Naposki
reportedly shook his head as the five-man, seven-woman jury read
the guilty verdict to special circumstances murder against him.

The panel had deliberated about seven hours over two
days before convicting the 44-year-old of murdering millionaire William R. McLaughlin
in his Newport Beach home in
1994.

Superior Court Judge William R. Froeberg could sentence Naposki to life in prison without the possibility of parole
at sentencing on Oct. 21.

Ladera Ranch's Nanette Ann Packard McNeal, the 46-year-old former girlfriend of Naposki and McLaughlin, faces similar charges beginning Nov. 4

UPDATE, JULY 14, 4:01 P.M.: A jury just found Eric Naposki guilty of murder, agreeing with prosecutors that he did it for money.

Orange County District Attorney's office announced a verdict in the
trial of  be read at 3:30 p.m. today at the Central Justice Center in
Santa Ana.

The 44-year-old former NFL player is accused of murdering his lover's benefactor boyfriend for financial gain in the victim's Newport Beach home. His former lover, Nanette Ann Packard McNeal (formerly Nanette Ann Johnston), 46, Ladera Ranch, is also charged in this case.
