A Tustin police officer on the scene for the arrest of a suspected drunk driver who smashed into a pole was injured while sitting in his marked patrol car, which was rammed into by a car driven by a second suspected drunk early today.
The officer's agency has not yet released his name, specified his injuries or listed his medical condition.

A vehicle crashed into a utility pole around 1:20 a.m. in the 13000 block of Red Hill Avenue, where driver Ty Hosman, 34, of Tustin, was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving. The Orange County Register reports Hosman has a history of traffic infractions, including DUIs.
About an hour later, as the police investigation continued, a silver BMW rammed into the passenger side of the marked Tustin police car that was blocking a lane of traffic. That 20-year-old motorist, Edmundo Rojas, was also popped for suspected DUI.
An outside agency, the California Highway Patrol, is investigating the second crash, as it involves a Tustin officer.
