A benefit will be held at Tsunami Sushi tonight to celebrate the life of Steve Adler and to help raise money for his 13-year-old son Clark, which will be put into a college fund.
As reported previously, Adler, 41, was a prominent surfboard shaper and builder who passed away from a heart attack on March 11, at a Westminster shaping factory shared with fellow craftsman Tim stamps.
After the jump: More info on the event tonight, how you can help and memorial paddle out info.

Steve Adler's memorial service was held last Tuesday at the St. Cyprian Catholic Church, where over 900 people came to pay their respects.
A paddle out, a traditional surfer's memorial tribute (for more info, check out Bradley Beylik's post on the culture of the paddle out), will be held in his memory, which is open to the public, at 9 a.m. on April 18 at Surfside, which is between Seal Beach and Bolsa Chica State Beach.
At the paddle out, memorial T-shirts will be sold for $20, with proceeds also going to an account set up for Clark's college fund. But even if you can't make the paddle out, there's still a way to help: The college fund has been set up at Farmers & Merchants Bank--just simply write the check out to Clark Adler. Tsunami Sushi will be having happy hour specials and $3 raffle tickets all night. Tsunami will be donating 100 percent of the profits, as well as any donations made.
