UPDATE, JAN. 21, 1:23 P.M.: Placentia teacher Christopher Millette is due in court Thursday to face one count of oral copulation or sexual penetration of a child 10 years old or younger, two counts of lewd or lascivious acts on a child younger than 14 and a sentence-enhancing allegation of substantial sexual conduct with a child–in this case a girl under 10 he is related to.
But prosecutors also say they fear the 36-year-old may have preyed on other children. Under the current counts Millette faces up to 19 years to life in prison if convicted, according to the Orange County District Attorney's office.

Officials at Valadez Middle School Academy in Placentia, where Millette taught seventh grade, have not confirmed his employment status, although he is no longer listed with the teaching staff on the school's website, City News Service reports.
ORIGINAL POST, JAN. 5, 8 A.M.: A Placentia teacher is scheduled to appear in court today for allegedly molesting a young girl he was acquainted with but had no connection to his middle school.
Fullerton Police detectives arrested 36-year-old Christopher Millette on Wednesday for suspected lewd and lascivious acts with a child.
He was held in Orange County Jail in lieu of $1 million bail heading into today's court hearing.
The alleged crimes happened multiple times in Fullerton in August and December, according to police.
Millette was identified by police as a seventh grade science teacher at Valadez Middle School in Placentia, but spokespeople were quick to note there have been no known victims associated with his employment.
